Cycle journey planner
Transport Direct and Cycling England, in partnership with the 10 Greater Manchester authorities, will be launching a cycle journey planner in late 2009. Simply type in your start point and end destination to get a map and written description for your journey, with a choice of the quickest or the quietest route. It’ll also show you the route length and an idea of how long the ride will take. The trial version is available online now at the Transport Direct website for cycle journeys in Greater Manchester and Merseyside (and will be expanded to other areas). There’s also an online form for you to give feedback that can be incorporated into the full version, to be launched later in 2009. Watch out for more details here at CycleGM or www.cyclingengland.co.uk
