Maps and Guides

We have an interactive cycle map and an order form for copies of paper maps.

An exciting new cycling journey planner is being developed by Transport Direct and Cycling England and in partnership with the 10 Greater Manchester authorities. The cycle journey planner helps you to plan your route – all you have to do is type in your start point and your end destination and it generates a map and a written description. You can also choose whether you want a to travel by the quickest or the quietest route. The journey planner also gives you other useful information such as the length of the route and how long it might take you to cycle it.

The trial version of the cycle journey planner is available online now, visit the Transport Direct website.

At the moment you can plan your cycle journeys within Greater Manchester and Merseyside but the website is being expanded to cover other areas. The journey planner isn’t quite finished yet so if you would like to provide any feedback about it you can fill out the online form on the Transport Direct website.

The cycle journey planner will be fully launched later in 2009, more details will be available here at CycleGM or at www.cyclingengland.co.uk
