New Cycle Route Information Leaflets Take-Off
The new cycle route information leaflets now available, show routes from Manchester City Centre to Manchester Airport and Sportcity and the Medlock Valley Way.

Manchester City Centre to Manchester Airport
Making use of both National Cycle Route 6 and Regional Cycle Route 85 in Manchester, follow this ten mile signed route from the heart of the City, south through the suburbs to Manchester Airport.

Passing through five Manchester parks and using quiet roads and traffic-free links, the route also provides connections to the Manchester Cycleway, part of National Cycle Route 60, the famous Coast to Coast Trans Pennine Trail, National Cycle Route 62 and not to mention links into the beautiful Cheshire Countryside via the Airport’s own Orbital Cycleway.

Manchester City Centre to Sportcity & The Medlock Valley Way
Heading east from the City centre, the Medlock Valley Way has been extensively regenerated over the last few years to offer a pleasant and contrasting cycling environment within easy reach of the City centre.

Leaving the City centre via the Ashton Canal’s grand Victorian industrial heritage, which gradually gives way to the region’s premier sporting hub, Sportcity, home to Manchester City FC, the National Cycling centre, National Squash centre and Regional Tennis centre.

Continuing on past Sportcity and through Philips Park and Clayton Vale, the tranquil Medlock Valley Way leaves the busy City streets far, far behind.
